The prodrug is light brown solid, relative density 1.61g/mL(20℃). Melting point 212℃, vapor pressure 2.49×10-14Pa(20℃), 9.55×10-14Pa(25℃). Solubility (mg/L, 19°C): water 5.7 (pH5), 410 (pH7), 1460 (pH9). Stable in water pH 5-9.

Pentaflumizone is a broad-spectrum herbicide for paddy field, it can effectively control barnyardgrass (including barnyardgrass resistant to diclofenac, diclofenac and phthalide-coenzyme A closterone), chrysanthemum and annual sedge weeds, and it is also effective against many broadleaf weeds. At the same time, it can also prevent and eliminate the rice field weeds resistant to chlordecone sulfuron, and many broadleaf and sedge weeds and barnyard grass with residual activity, for the current rice field herbicides with the broadest spectrum of grass species.
